Child education

"Children are the future citizens of the country" makes sense. You know that some children are child labours. Yes, you know that. But why? Why some children are child labours. The reason is poverty. Yes, poverty is the reason of child labour. Because of poverty, parents can't feed their children. Suppose, a man with his wife and his daughter lives in a village. Now, this man is extremely poor. He can't feed himself and also his daughter. So, he went for work to earn money. He also engaged his daughter in agricultural work. So, this is what we call child labour. But this is wrong. We should not engage children in labour work. Education is very important for 3 to 18 years children. So what did the government do? It started building free schools, colleges and universities. But then also some parents are not sending their children to school. Why? Because if their children go to school, who will do the work? Finally, the government started the Anganwadi system. It said,...

The brave children

Once a widow lived in a village with her grandchildren. The village was very close to a forest named Champakvan. The villagers always went to the forest to pluck fruits and vegetables. But, there was one problem which always troubled the villagers. In the forest, lived a devil named Champakasura. Anyone who passed by that way, he saw them and he stole their belongings. In that village, lived four siblings whose names were Dhruv, Veer, Diya and Kiara. Dhruv was very intelligent. Veer was very brave. Diya was very kind. Kiara was very wise. They were good siblings. They were that widow's grandchildren.  Now the news that Champakasura was living in the forest has spread all over the village. They were scared to go to the forest. Why do we cry when we cut onion - a short story

Once upon a time, Kulfi, tomato and onion were friends. One hot sunny day, the three friends went outside to play. But, due to the sunny rays, Kulfi  melted. Seeing their friend dead, tomato and onion cried. After a week, onion and tomato again went outside to play. But this time, tomato wanted to play on the road. But onion refused and played on the playground. So, tomato started playing on the road. Suddenly, a truck passed over the tomato. Poor onion mourned the death of his last friend. But then, he started thinking," If I die, who will cry for me?" The God heard the little onion's innocent thought. God said," Onion, don't you worry! If you die, then everyone will cry for you."  So, whenever we cut an onion, we cry.   This is just a fictional story.   This is not the real reason why we cry when we cut onion.  Well, onions contain a oil, which has lots of sulphur in it. When you cut the onion, this oil is released. It evaporates very fast. When the oil ga...

My duty as a young citizen during Coronavirus

This story is not an old one. It happened recently. There were two best friends. One of them's name was Keerthy and the other's was Anandi. They were good friends. Years passed and their birthday came. Now they were 11 years old. The next day, a new virus struck to that town. That virus's name was Coronavirus. The CM of that state decreed lock down for 21 days. No one should step outside their homes. Anandi decided that she would stay at the home for 21 days. She did everything in the house. Also, she washed her hands after and before meals, after using the toilet and after playing with her pet puppy, Satty. Because she felt that it is her duty as a young citizen during Coronavirus. Meanwhile, Keerthy also decided that she would stay at home. But she lost her patience. She stayed at home for 2 to 3 days and she stepped out from her house. She played outside by herself. She did not wash after using the toilet and after playing with her pet kitten, Kitty. After some days, th...

Once upon a time, there was a beautiful village. There was a forest near the village. In that forest, there were many trees which bore fruits and flowers. The villagers were very friendly with the forest. They  watered the trees and plants  before going to their work. The forest was also friendly with the villagers. It   gave fruits and vegetables to the elders of  the village and flowers to the children. In that village, there was a group of children. The children always watered the trees and plants of the forests before going to the school. While returning from school, they used to sit on the branches of the trees. The girls liked the trees very much. They used to pluck flowers from the trees and sit under the shade of trees. The boys used to eat the juicy fruits and sleep on the branches. Days went by. One day, a factory owner came into that forest. He thought, "I will clear this forest and build my new factory. Tomorrow I will burn this forest". The trees and...
